Chilean LNB round 13 best performance: Stephen Maxwell- March 6, 2023
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, eight rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Espanol T. (#11, 4-6) 98-87. Ancud maintains the 2nd position in Chilean LNB. They are still close to the very top. Ancud would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 10-2 record. Maxwell turned to be Ancud's top player in his first season with the team. Former California State University Northridge star has very solid stats this year. Maxwell is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.0ppg. Maxwell is in league's top in and averages impressive 70.6% FGP. The second best player in last round's games was young Brazilian Diego Dias Silva (207-F/C-1990) of Temuco. Dias Silva had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 20 rebounds. Bad luck as Temuco lost that game 68-86 to the higher-ranked Catolica (#12, 3-8). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Temuco is still at the dead bottom 15th position. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Temuco managed to get this year. Dias Silva is a newcomer at Temuco, but is already one of team's top players. Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Chris Perry (203-F-1994) of Quilicura (#6). Perry scored 18 points and grabbed eighteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Quilicura, leading his team to a 99-80 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Las Animas (#7, 7-6). Quilicura needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 5 lost games. Perry has a great season in Chile. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.2rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.3bpg and FGP: 60.0%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Bryan Carabali (212-C-1999) of Castro - 10 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Marquez Letcher-Ellis (203-F-1997) of Puente Alto - 19 points and 9 rebounds 6. Cristian Amicucci (200-F/C-1985) of Las Animas - 20 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists 7. Gianncarlo Caraboni (F) of Tinguiririca - 26 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Andre Pierce (207-F/C-1995) of Catolica - 20 points and 8 rebounds 9. Anthony Lee (206-F/C-1991) of Espanol O. - 17 points and 12 rebounds 10. Pablo Barraza (184-SG-1994) of Ancud - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
