LNB Round 21: Bottom-ranked Temuco win against Espanol O.

Bottom-ranked Temuco managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of eight consecutive losses on Sunday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Espanol O. 81-76. 26 personal fouls committed by Espanol O. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Brazilian power forward Diego Dias Silva (207-1990) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 21 rebounds. American forward Jeremy Ireland (200-1996, college: Elmhurst) contributed with 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward DeAndre Daniels (206-1992, college: UConn, agency: BIG) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for Espanol O.Espanol O.'s coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Temuco maintains fifteenth place with 2-18 record. Espanol O. lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Temuco are looking forward to face higher ranked Puente Alto (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Espanol O. will play against Tinguiririca and is hoping to win this game.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Puerto Varas (10-11) and Catolica (6-15), which took place in Santiago. 9th ranked Puerto Varas lost to twelfth ranked Catolica in a road game 86-90. American forward TJ Robinson (203-1989, college: LBSU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Manny Payton chipped in 28 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Argentinian Tomas Rossi (202) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Catolica maintains twelfth place with 6-15 record. Puerto Varas at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Catolica will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Puerto Varas will play at home against Castro (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between 13th ranked Espanol T. (4-13) and tenth ranked Quilicura (10-9) in Talca on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Quilicura outscored Espanol T. 127-52. Chris Perry nailed a double-double by scoring 51 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 21-of-27 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Jaime Avendano came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds for Espanol T. in the defeat. Espanol T.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Quilicura moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Castro. Espanol T. lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Quilicura will meet at home higher ranked Valdivia (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Espanol T. will play against Las Animas (#5) in Valdivia and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 21 Puerto Montt was beaten by Los Leones on the road 85-71.
