Los Leones - Puerto Montt 85-71 No shocking result in a game when second ranked Los Leones (17-3) beat 11th ranked Puerto Montt (7-14) in Quilpue 85-71 on Sunday. Los Leones outrebounded Puerto Montt 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American Tyrone Lee (203-1990, college: GVSU) nailed 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and the former international forward Darrol Jones (193-1994) accounted for 9 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Los Leones' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Josh Morris (203-1993, college: UTPB) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200-1992) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Puerto Montt in the defeat. Four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Los Leones have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-3 record behind leader Concepcion. Espanol T.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Quilicura moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Castro. Espanol T. lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Quilicura will meet at home higher ranked Valdivia (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Espanol T. will play against Las Animas (#5) in Valdivia and hope to secure a win.
