LNB2 Round 1: Brisas lose to Sergio Ceppi

The Regular Season in LNB 2 just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Brisas in Santiago on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Sergio Ceppi 61-56. Camilo Figueroa (-1995) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Fabian Aguilera (-1995) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Sascha Frings (202-1986) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Brisas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sergio Ceppi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Stadio Italiano.
Very significant was Aleman's 15-point road victory against Municipal C. 78-63. Forward Jose Campos (-2002) nailed 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Rafael Chaparro accounted for 22 points and 7 rebounds. Center Marko Castro (192-1988) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds for Municipal C. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aleman will play against Tomas L. in San Fernando in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Municipal C. will play on the road against Liceo Curico and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Quite upsetting was Tomas L.'s 40-point home defeat in a game versus Colo Colo who smashed hosts Francisco Atala fired 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Andres Lavin produced 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Colo Colo will meet at home Liceo PN in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tomas L. will play against Aleman in Puerto Varas and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 1: winless Luis Matte lost to undefeated Sportiva Italiana on the opponent's court 56-75. Stadio Italiano managed to outperform Boston College in a home game 67-63. Winless Truenos lost to undefeated Liceo PN on the road 74-80.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 13 points and 6 rebounds by Lucas Thiebaut of Colo Colo.

They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Argentinian center Franco Barroso (207-1994) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Michael Ernst (187-1982) chipped in 19 points. Forward Nick Morales (187-1985) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and Benjamin Roco (-2002) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Truenos players scored in double figures. Liceo PN will meet Colo Colo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Truenos will have a break next round.
