Johnson's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- April 24, 2023
He had a double-double of 36 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Ancud (#3, 16-6) 100-92. Valdivia maintains the 6th position in Chilean league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Valdivia will need more victories to improve their 14-10 record. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 65.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Valdivia, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Mississippi State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in points (6th best: 20.5ppg), rebounds (8th best: 10.8rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg and 57.1% FGP. Second best performed player last round was DeAndre Daniels (206-F-1992, agency: BIG) of Espanol O.. He is American forward in his first season at Espanol O.. In the last game Daniels recorded impressive double-double of 31 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Espanol O. lost that game 83-92 to the higher-ranked Concepcion (#1, 22-2). This loss caused Espanol O. to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Daniels is one of the most experienced players at Espanol O. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to forward Chris Perry (203-F-1994) of Quilicura (#8). Perry scored 22 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Quilicura, leading his team to a 97-72 easy win against the lower-ranked Puerto Montt (#12, 8-17). Quilicura needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 10 lost games. Perry has a great season in Chile. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 13.8rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.5bpg and FGP: 56.4%.
