Glover's double-double lands him Player of the Week award- May 3, 2023
He had a double-double of 33 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Puerto Varas (#10, 11-16) 88-76. Las Animas maintains the 5th position in Chilean league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Las Animas will need more victories to improve their 16-10 record. In the team's last game Glover had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Las Animas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Shawn Glover averages this season 23.1ppg and 6.9rpg. Second best performed player last round was Chris Perry (203-F-1994) of Quilicura. He is American forward in his first season at Quilicura. In the last game Perry recorded impressive double-double of 33 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Quilicura lost that game 83-89 to the higher-ranked Concepcion (#1, 23-3). Quilicura managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Perry is a newcomer at Quilicura and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.5ppg (#3). He also registered 13.8 boards per game. Third place about best performers goes to forward Stephen Maxwell (201-F-1993) of Ancud (#4). Maxwell got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds . Despite Maxwell's great performance Ancud lost 77-99 to #2 ranked Los Leones. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Ancud needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 17 victories and 7 lost games. Maxwell has a great season in Chile. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.9ppg (best scorer). Other top performing players last week: 4.
