Martin Morales
Forward Martin Morales (F-2002) had a very impressive game in the last round for Truenos, receiving a Hoops Agents LNB 2 Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 20-year old player had a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Liceo Curico (#5, 1-3) 73-63. Truenos is placed at 3rd position in Chilean LNB 2. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Truenos will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Morales had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Truenos' top player in his first season with the team. Martin Morales has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 13.3ppg), rebounds (5th best: 9.3rpg) and averages impressive 69.6% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was young Gaspar Hernandez (SG-1999) of league's leader Sportiva Italiana. Hernandez had a very good evening with 32 points and 6 rebounds. Of course he led Sportiva Italiana to another comfortable win outscoring Brisas (#7, 0-4) 108-74. Of course Sportiva Italiana still keep Zoba Centro's top spot. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Hernandez is one of the most experienced players at Sportiva Italiana and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.8ppg (#2). He also registered 4.3 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Haitian forward Heder Louis (F) of Liceo Curico (#5). Louis showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, fourteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. Despite Louis' great performance Liceo Curico lost 63-73 to slightly higher-ranked Truenos (#3, 2-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Liceo Curico can only dream about fighting for top spots in Zona Sur. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Louis has individually a great season in Chile. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.0rpg (#1 in league).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
