Chilean LNF round 8 best performance: Tatiana Gomez (by Hoops Agents)

International Center Tatiana Gomez (192-C-1981) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Alemana P., receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 41-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 22 rebounds, while her team outclassed Pankull (#6, 1-5) with 36-point margin 79-43. It allowed Alemana P. to consolidate first place in the Chilean LNF. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Alemana P. already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. Gomez has many years of experience at Alemana P., through which she has constantly improved. Tatiana Gomez has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 26.6ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 14.8rpg) and averages impressive 2.8bpg,2.8spg and 57.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Catalina Azocar (C-1997) of Puerto Montt. Azocar had a very good evening with a double-double of 12 points and 18 rebounds. Of course she led Puerto Montt to another comfortable win outscoring Larr Valdivia (#7, 0-6) 89-51. Puerto Montt's 3rd position in Zona D has not changed. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Azocar is well-known at Puerto Montt and is a proven leader in her second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jessica Martino (175-F-2000) of Temuco (#4). Martino showcased her all-around game by recording 24 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Martino's great performance Temuco lost 61-87 to #2 ranked Frontera. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Temuco needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Zona C. Their record is 4 victories and 3 lost games. Martino has a great season in Chile. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.3ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 12.8rpg (4th best).
