Roxane Makolo claims Chilean LNF Hoops Agents weekly honour

Canadian-DR Congolese Roxane Makolo (178-G-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for CD Gimnastico Vina del Mar and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 25-year old guard had a double-double of 39 points and 13 rebounds, while her team beat Sergio Ceppi (#8, 0-5), the league's bottom-ranked team 77-68. Gimnastico is placed at 4th position in Chilean LNF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Gimnastico will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. Makolo just recently signed at Gimnastico, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Georgia graduate has very impressive stats this year. Makolo is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.0ppg. Makolo is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 10.6rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Colombian shooting guard Maria-Esperanza Delgado (173-SG-1996) of Azul y Rojo Las Condes. Delgado impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Azul y Rojo lost that game 65-99 to Gimnastico (3-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Delgado is one of the most experienced players at Azul y Rojo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.8ppg (#2). She also registered 5.4 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Gimnastico's star - American Alexis Poole (188-F-1999). Poole showcased her all-around game by recording 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. She was another key player of CD Gimnastico Vina del Mar, helping her team with a 99-65 easy win against Azul y Rojo (#6, 1-4). Gimnastico needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Poole has a great season in Chile. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.2ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 10.6rpg (2nd best).
