LNB2 Round 10: Stadio Italiano is upset by Arabe de Valp.

The most important game in the last round took place in Valparaiso between third ranked Stadio Italiano (4-5) and fifth ranked Arabe de Valp. (4-4) on Saturday night. Stadio Italiano was defeated by Arabe de Valp. in a tough game on the road 72-79. Arabe de Valp. outrebounded Stadio Italiano 53-40 including 16 on the offensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Stadio Italiano helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Nicolas Vargas (-2001) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Pedro Soares chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Vicente Schulz (-2002) produced 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for lost side. Stadio Italiano's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Arabe de Valp. moved-up to third place, which they share with Municipal C. Stadio Italiano at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Arabe de Valp.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Valparaiso to the arena Sportiva Italiana.
Undefeated leader Liceo PN delivered the ninth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Aleman (2-7) 127-35 in Puerto Varas. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Franco Morales (181-1992) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists. Michael Ernst contributed with 29 points and 4 steals (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Rafael Chaparro (-2002) replied with 12 points for Aleman. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Liceo PN (9-0) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row. Aleman lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. Liceo PN will play against Liceo Curico (#5) at home in the next round. Aleman will play against Truenos in Talca and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Santiago was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Luis Matte (3-4) played at the court of seventh ranked Boston College (2-6). Boston College managed to secure a 6-point victory 69-63 on Saturday. Lucas Marquez had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Leonel Duhalde responded with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boston College moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Brisas and Tomas L. Loser Luis Matte dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Truenos. Boston College will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Luis Matte will play against the league's second-placed Sergio Ceppi (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
