Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Ancud (8-2) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Valdivia (8-1) 96-90. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Ancud. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of Fabian Martinez (194-2000) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Erik Carrasco (181) contributed with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Franco Morales (181-1992) replied with 32 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Ancud. Valdivia have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Ancud at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. Valdivia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Valdivia Las Animas.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Tinguiririca (6-4) against fourth ranked Puente Alto (6-4) on Sunday night. Visiting Tinguiririca was crushed by Puente Alto in Puente Alto 98-76. Center Joaquin Pino (-2000) scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Martin Chervo chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Puente Alto's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Felipe Gonzalez Burgos (183-1998) responded with 7 points and 14 rebounds. Puente Alto have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Tinguiririca. Puente Alto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tinguiririca will play at home against Liceo PN and hopes to get back on the winning track.
CUP top team - Los Leones (9-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Espanol T. (0-9) in Quilpue 88-57. Ignacio Carrion notched 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 11 points and 5 rebounds by Hans Adrian did not help to save the game for Espanol T.. Espanol T.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Los Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record, which they share with Concepcion. Loser Espanol T. still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Puerto Montt. Los Leones will meet Catolica (#5) in the next round. Espanol T. will play against the league's second-placed Concepcion and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Other games in round 10 were not that significant. Winless Puerto Montt was beaten by Las Animas on the road 71-59. Espanol O. won against Puerto Varas on its own court 91-74. Catolica were outscored by Concepcion in a road game 104-40.

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Las Animas (7-5) beat bottom-ranked Puerto Montt (0-9) in Valdivia 71-59 on Sunday. Las Animas dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Puerto Montt's 26. Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 23 rebounds to lead the effort and Venezuelan Luis Merida (190) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds by center Haralt Funk (195-1986) did not help to save the game for Puerto Montt. Forward Johany Gallardo (191-1988) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Las Animas maintains fourth position with 7-5 record. Loser Puerto Montt still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Espanol T.. Las Animas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Valdivia to the arena Valdivia.

They outrebounded Puerto Varas 45-20 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Espanol O. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international Carlos Lauler (190) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and American center Arnold Louis (201-1990, college: SSU) supported him with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Espanol O.'s coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 11 points and 5 rebounds by forward Carlos Villagran (185) did not help to save the game for Puerto Varas. Rather predictable result when second ranked Concepcion (9-1) rolled over at home 5th ranked Catolica (4-7) 104-40 on Sunday. Concepcion held Catolica to an opponent 21.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Catolica 63-39 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Concepcion looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Catolica's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Concepcion made 7 blocks. American forward Marquez Letcher-Ellis (203-1997, college: Nevada) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and international point guard Diego Silva (186) supported him with 18 points and 4 steals. Four Concepcion players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by Felipe Rodo (-2002) did not help to save the game for Catolica. Alfredo Waugh (-2001) added 9 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Concepcion have an impressive nine-game winning streak.
