LNB Round 4 (Regular Season): Las Animas lose to Ancud

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Las Animas (3-1) on the court of top-ranked Ancud on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Ancud 88-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Las Animas. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Argentinian Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Franco Morales (181-1992) who added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. Ancud's coach Jose Luis Pisani used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Rakim Brown (198-1991, college: Humboldt St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ancud have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Las Animas at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Valdivia and Espanol.
Bottom-ranked Castro (0-3) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their third consecutive match to fifth ranked Espanol (3-1) 67-66. The winners were led by American forward Darnell Cowart (203-1998, college: Murray St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Carlos Lauler supported him with 18 points. Even a double-double of 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks by American Justin Jackson (203-1990, college: Cincinnati, agency: AG Sports Solutions) did not help to save the game for Castro. Espanol moved-up to third place, which they share with Valdivia and Las Animas. Castro at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Catolica.
Bottom-ranked Puente Alto (0-4) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to ninth ranked Puerto Montt (2-2) 71-67 on Sunday evening. Stan Scott fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Montt's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. King Revolution produced 20 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Puerto Montt moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Puerto Varas and Sportiva Italiana. Loser Puente Alto still closes the standings with four games lost.

In the last game of round 4 Puerto Varas lost to Sportiva Italiana on the opponent's court 67-79.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Romeao Ferguson of Puerto Varas.

Sportiva Italiana - Puerto Varas 79-67

There was a minor upset in Valparaiso where 6th ranked Puerto Varas (2-2) were defeated by eighth ranked Sportiva Italiana (2-2) 79-67 on Sunday. Sportiva Italiana made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. American forward Keaton Hervey (201-1998, college: Oakland) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winners. Forward Benjamin Herrera (-2003) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
