It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Los Leones. Ancud forced 25 Los Leones turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Los Leones helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Argentinian Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) fired 22 points and 5 steals for the winners. The former international point guard Franco Morales (181-1992) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Los Leones' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated Ancud (8-0) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Espanol can celebrate finally their first win this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Puerto Montt (3-5) 88-80 on Friday. It was a great evening for Jamal Poplar who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side Sebastian Gomez responded with 27 points. Despite that victory Espanol went down to eleventh position due to points difference, which they share with Liceo PN. Loser Puerto Montt keeps the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Puerto Varas. Espanol will meet higher ranked Los Leones (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Puerto Montt will play against the league's second-placed Espanol (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
