Derrick Woods claims Chilean LNB Hoops Agents weekly honour

American Derrick Woods (203-F-1996, agency: SLN) had a very impressive game in the last round for CD Universidad de Concepcion and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Sportiva Italiana (#9, 4-6) 78-72. Thanks to this victory Concepcion moved-up to the 5th position in Chilean LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Concepcion will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. Woods turned to be Concepcion's top player in his first season with the team. Derrick Woods averages this season 17.2ppg and 8.1rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Concepcion's star - young American center Roquez Johnson (201-C-1992, agency: BIG). Johnson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as CD Universidad de Concepcion was edged by the lower-ranked Puente Alto (#10, 4-7) 94-90. This loss caused Concepcion to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 7-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Johnson is a newcomer at Concepcion and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Keaton Hervey (201-F-1998) of Sportiva Italiana Valparaiso (#9). Hervey scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Sportiva Italiana, leading his team to a 95-75 easy win against the lower-ranked Espanol T. (#14, 2-8). The chances of Sportiva Italiana ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Hervey could help Sportiva Italiana to bring them higher in the standings. Hervey has a great season in Chile. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 9.9rpg (6th best).
