LNB 2 Round 1 (Regular Season): Municipal C. lose to Aleman

The Regular Season in LNB 2 just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Municipal C. in Puerto Varas on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Aleman 73-59. Aleman had a 37-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Gabriel Beltran fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jose Campos (-2002) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Matias Villagran (199) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aleman is looking forward to face Boston College in Santiago in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Municipal C. will play on the road against Sergio Ceppi in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was played in Talca between Arabe de Valp. and Truenos where Arabe de Valp. beat Truenos on the road 78-74. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Nicolas Vargas who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds. Carlos Aranda contributed with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Arabe de Valp.'s coach Matias Carcamo allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Martin Morales answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for Truenos. Arabe de Valp. will play against Arturo Prat in San Felipe in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Truenos will play on the road against Colo Colo in Santiago to get more than just one victory in their record.
An interesting game was played in San Felipe where Quilpue crushed host Arturo Prat with 23-point difference 74-51 on Saturday evening. Hilario Sanchez stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Carlos Gonzalez responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quilpue will meet at home Brisas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arturo Prat will play against Arabe de Valp. in Valparaiso and hope to win that game.

In the last two games of round 1 Luis Matte defeated Brisas in a road game 57-56. Winless Stadio Italiano lost to undefeated Colo Colo at home 66-82.
The best stats of 1st round was 16 points by Jose Collao of Colo Colo.

Quilpue dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Arturo Prat's 24. Quilpue forced 21 Arturo Prat turnovers. Hilario Sanchez (-1999) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Rodrigo Zarate (-1999) chipped in 14 points. Four Quilpue players scored in double figures. At the losing side Carlos Gonzalez (-1988) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Venezuelan Carlos Romero scored 14 points. At the losing side Luis Cutis (-1995) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Sascha Frings (202-1986) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Luis Matte will meet at home Boston College in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Brisas will play against Quilpue and hope to win that game.

Colo Colo outrebounded Stadio Italiano 46-30 including a 41-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international Jorge Schuler (199) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and the former international Jose Collao (194-1987) chipped in 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the losing side swingman Francisco Pena (187) responded with 15 points and the former international Ramiro Galvez scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Stadio Italiano players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Colo Colo will meet at home Truenos in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Stadio Italiano will play against Municipal C. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
