Cristian Amicucci claims Chilean LNB weekly honour

Experienced Argentinian Cristian Amicucci (200-F/C-1985) had an amazing evening in the last round for Club Deportes Las Animas and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 38-year old power forward had a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Castro (#9, 9-14) 87-75. Las Animas maintains the 5th position in Chilean LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Las Animas will need more victories to improve their 14-10 record. It's Amicucci's second year at Las Animas and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Cristian Amicucci averages this season 13.6ppg and 8.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Keaton Hervey (201-F-1998) of Sportiva Italiana Valparaiso. Hervey impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 34 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Sportiva Italiana was edged by the higher-ranked Valdivia (#6, 13-11) 90-86. This loss caused Sportiva Italiana to drop to 10th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-15 record. Hervey is one of the most experienced players at Sportiva Italiana and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.4ppg (#3). He also registered 10.2 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Dwayne Russell (203-F-1998) of Club Deportivo Valdivia (#6). Russell scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Valdivia, leading his team to a 90-86 win against the lower-ranked Sportiva Italiana (#10, 9-15). Valdivia needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 11 lost games. Russell has a great season in Chile. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.9rpg (4th best).
