LNB Round 24 (Regular Season): Espanol is defeated by Puente Alto

Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in Puente Alto between third ranked Espanol (20-6) and seventh ranked Puente Alto (14-12) on Sunday night. Espanol was crushed by Puente Alto on the road 91-72. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Espanol O.. Puente Alto shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Dishon Lowery (200-1998, college: OKBU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Justin Everett (206-1996, college: Humboldt St.) who added 11 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Arnold Louis (201-1990, college: SSU) with 22 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puente Alto have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Las Animas. Espanol at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Concepcion.
Bottom-ranked Liceo PN managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against ninth-ranked Puerto Varas in Temuco 82-72. The winners were led by American power forward Domonta Wright (202-1999, college: Cleveland St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds and Brandon Johnson supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even 18 points by Argentinian Nahuel Martinez (188-1995) did not help to save the game for Puerto Varas. Liceo PN (6-20) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Puerto Montt. Puerto Varas at the other side keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Sportiva Italiana.

Sportiva Italiana managed to escape with a 3-point win 91-88 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The best player for the winners was Gaspar Hernandez who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Rakim Brown who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Sportiva Italiana moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Puerto Varas. Las Animas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Puente Alto.

In the last game of round 24 Puerto Montt lost to Valdivia on the opponent's court 68-83.

Sportiva Italiana - Las Animas 91-88

A very close game took place in Valparaiso between Sportiva Italiana and Las Animas. Tenth ranked Sportiva Italiana (10-16) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Las Animas (14-12). Sportiva Italiana managed to escape with a 3-point win 91-88 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Sportiva Italiana looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Gaspar Hernandez (-1999) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Keaton Hervey (201-1998, college: Oakland) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Very expected game when 13th ranked Puerto Montt (6-20) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Valdivia (15-11) 83-68 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American forward Dwayne Russell (203-1998, college: St.Thomas, FL) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Pedro Sandoval (180-1989) chipped in 26 points. Valdivia's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Ecuadorian center Jordan Cardenas (206-1998, college: FNU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Brazilian center Andre Coimbra (205-1986, college: CMU) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively.
