LNB 2 Round 11 (Regular Season): Sergio Ceppi is defeated by Boston College in a derby game

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Boston College (#7) and Sergio Ceppi (#3). Sergio Ceppi was crushed at home by 17 points 63-80 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a great evening for Argentinian swingman Manuel Lambrisca (192-1997) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. Lucas Marquez (196-2003) helped adding 18 points. Luis Marrero (-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boston College have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Sergio Ceppi. Sergio Ceppi lost third consecutive game. Boston College is looking forward to face Luis Matte (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sergio Ceppi will play against Municipal C. (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Santiago: Colo Colo (#1) and Stadio Italiano (#2). Colo Colo (12-0) crushed visiting Stadio Italiano (7-5) by 27 points 91-64. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Diego Valenzuela (185-1994) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Simon Fernandez accounted for 12 points and 7 assists. Guard Ramon Gatica (185-1996) came up with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for Stadio Italiano in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Colo Colo have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-0 record. Stadio Italiano at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Colo Colo will play against Truenos (#3) in Talca in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Stadio Italiano will play against Municipal C. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Arturo Prat has finally registered their first victory this season after 11 consecutive losses. The best player for the winners was Fred Pierre who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Hilario Sanchez produced 29 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the hosts. Quilpue's coach Alvaro Garcia rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Arturo Prat maintains twelfth place with 1-11 record. Loser Quilpue dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Arabe de Valp.. Arturo Prat will meet at home higher ranked Arabe de Valp. (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quilpue will play against Brisas in Santiago and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 11: Brisas won against Luis Matte on the opponent's court 70-58. Arabe de Valp. unfortunately lost to Truenos in a home game 43-57. Aleman recorded a loss to Municipal C. on the road 67-69.

Luis Matte - Brisas 58-70

There was an upset when higher ranked Luis Matte (6-6) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Brisas (2-10) 70-58 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was power forward Sascha Frings (202-1986) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Lucas Fernandez (-2002) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Felipe Gonzalez (-1994) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and Venezuelan forward Luis Adrian added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Brisas maintains eleventh place with 2-10 record. Loser Luis Matte dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Brisas will meet at home higher ranked Quilpue (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Luis Matte will play against Boston College in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Truenos dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Arabe de Valp.'s 26. They outrebounded Arabe de Valp. 48-33 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Martin Morales who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Nick Morales (187-1985) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Argentinian forward Diego Maranesi (-1997) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Nelson Matos (-2000) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Truenos. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Arabe de Valp. lost their fourth game in a row.
