An interesting game for Sportiva Ita. (5-2) which played road game in Santiago against 4th placed Sergio Ceppi (3-3). Third ranked Sportiva Ita. managed to get a 5-point victory 74-69. Sportiva Ita. forced 33 Sergio Ceppi turnovers and had a 28-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Josefina Cortes (174-1998) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 22 rebounds. The former international forward Catalina Perez (195-1997) contributed with 20 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals for the winners. Center Katalina Garcia (182-1994) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for Sergio Ceppi. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Univ.Concepcion. Sergio Ceppi at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost.
LNF top team - Alemana (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Puerto Montt (0-7) in Paillaco 95-43. It was a great evening for Italian-Argentinian Daniela Dublo (184-1988) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Alexus Johnson helped adding 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). At the losing side Argentinian center Julieta Ibarra (180-1998) responded with 6 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Alemana have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Puerto Montt at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Gimnastico.
Bottom-ranked Gimnastico is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to leader CDSC (4-0) 70-49 on Saturday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Malvina DAgostino who led the winners and scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. CDSC's coach Julia Acevedo felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valentina Garay came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds for Gimnastico in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for CDSC. They moved-up to second place. Gimnastico lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Puerto Montt.
