Diego Maranesi claims Chilean LNB 2 weekly honour

Argentinian Diego Maranesi (F-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Arabe de Valparaiso and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents LNB 2 Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Quilpue (6-7) 60-48. Arabe de Valp. maintains the 7th position in Chilean LNB 2. Arabe de Valp. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-7 record. Maranesi just recently signed at Arabe de Valp., being already a very valuable addition to the team. Maranesi has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 7.8rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg,3.6spg and 52.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Hilario Sanchez (1999) of Quilpue Basquetbol. Sanchez impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Quilpue lost that game 48-60 to slightly higher-ranked Arabe de Valp. (6-7). Quilpue is still in a red zone at 9th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-7 record. Sanchez is one of the most experienced players at Quilpue and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#1). He also registered 6.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was international guard Eduardo Marechal (186-SG-1985) of CD Aleman Concepcion (#6). Marechal showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Marechal's great performance the Aleman lost 91-93 to the higher-ranked Sergio Ceppi (#2, 9-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Aleman needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 7 victories and 6 lost games. Marechal has a great season in Chile. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.5ppg (7th best) and assists with 4.2apg (5th best).
