This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Stadio Italiano (8-6) to third ranked Sergio Ceppi (10-5) 68-67 on Saturday evening. Sergio Ceppi made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Stadio Italiano helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Gabriel Gonzalez who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Boris Guerra (-1987) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Swingman Francisco Pena (187) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for Stadio Italiano. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sergio Ceppi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Stadio Italiano at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Arturo Prat. Point guard Diego Valenzuela (185-1994) stepped up and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and Devaughn Jenkins chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Erick Farias (-1990) responded with 16 points and 5 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Colo Colo have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-0 record. Arturo Prat at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. Sebastian Pereira came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for Aleman in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Boston College. They maintain third place with 9-5 record having five points less than leader Colo Colo. Aleman lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Boston College will meet at home Quilpue (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Aleman will play against Stadio Italiano in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
