Charles Thomas (ex Regatas) is a newcomer at Concepcion

Charles Thomas

CD Universidad de Concepcion (LNB) strengthened their roster with the addition of experienced 38-year-old American power forward Charles Thomas (203cm-102kg-1986, college: Arkansas) for the 2024-25 season. He played most recently at Regatas in the Argentinian La Liga. In 32 games, he recorded very impressive stats: 16.0ppg, 6.4rpg, and 1.3apg last season. He was also voted League Player of the Week. The previous (2023) summer, he played at Olimpia in the Paraguayan league. Thomas also played for Reales in the Dominican Rep. league earlier that season.
He is quite an experienced player. Thanks to his pro career, he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America) in thirteen different countries. Thomas has played previously professionally in Bosnia, Bulgaria (Akademik Sofia), Finland (FoKoPo), France (Nantes and Chorale de Roanne), Israel (Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion and Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia), Italy (Cantu, Scafati, Ravenna, and Legnano), Jordan (ASU Sports Club), Lebanon (Sagesse), Paraguay, Ukraine (Dnipro, Mariupol, and Cherkasy), Uruguay (Penarol), and Venezuela (Trotamundos and Brillantes).
Among many awards, he won the Dominican Republic LNB championship title in 2023. He was selected to the Latinbasket.com Uruguay LUB All-Imports Team in 2023. Thomas is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Concepcion.
He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2008 and it will be his 17th season as a pro player.
