The most exciting game of round 17 in the LNB 2 took place in . This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Quilpue (7-11) to fourth ranked Stadio Italiano (11-7) 57-54 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Stadio Italiano outrebounded Quilpue 43-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Swingman Francisco Pena (187) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Francisco Castellano (-1986) contributed with 8 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Stadio Italiano's coach Rodrigo Carvajal used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Jose Toledo (-2002) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for Quilpue. Stadio Italiano have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 11-7 record. Quilpue lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. There were no big surprises in other games of round 17: Brisas were beaten by Aleman on the road 74-70. Luis Matte lost to Municipal C. on its own court 49-64. Boston College unfortunately lost to Truenos in Talca 59-63. Sergio Ceppi rolled over Luis Matte at home 80-57.
The most impressive performance of 17th round was 14 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks by Luis Marrero of Sergio Ceppi.



Aleman - Brisas 74-70

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Aleman (10-7) beat 11th ranked Brisas (3-13) in Puerto Varas 74-70. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Center Sebastian Pereira (203-2005) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and the former international Eduardo Marechal (186-1985) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Aleman's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Luis Cutis (-1995) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Sascha Frings (202-1986) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Aleman have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Brisas at the other side keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Aleman will play against Luis Matte (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Brisas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Stadio Italiano.

They moved-up to seventh place. Luis Matte lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Municipal C. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Luis Matte will play against Aleman (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Four Truenos players scored in double figures. Truenos have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 11-6 record having six points less than leader Colo Colo.
