LNB 2 Round 18 (Regular Season): Quilpue defeats Sergio Ceppi in the closest game of the week

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LNB 2. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 18 in the LNB 2 took place in . This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best Sergio Ceppi (12-8) to ninth ranked Quilpue (8-11) 62-60 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Maximiliano Lopez (-2003) scored 16 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Jose Toledo (-2002) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Rodrigo Sepulveda with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Sergio Ceppi's coach Eduardo Sepulveda rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quilpue moved-up to eighth place. Sergio Ceppi at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Quilpue's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in to the arena .

Boston College was defeated at home 68-75 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Cristian Urrutia (-1999) notched 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Jose Collao supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds by Argentinian swingman Manuel Lambrisca (192-1997) did not help to save the game for Boston College. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Colo Colo (18-0) have an impressive 18-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 18 victories in a row. Boston College lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Colo Colo will play against Aleman (#5) in Puerto Varas in the next round. Boston College will play on the road against Arturo Prat in San Felipe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in (derby !!!) between Luis Matte and Aleman. Tenth ranked Luis Matte (7-11) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Aleman (11-8). Luis Matte managed to escape with a 1-point win 90-89 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Aleman. The best player for the winners was Angel Galaviz who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Eduardo Marechal who recorded 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Luis Matte maintains tenth position with 7-11 record. Loser Aleman keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Luis Matte will meet league's second-placed Stadio Italiano in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aleman will play against the league's leader Colo Colo where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

In the last two games of round 18 Truenos destroyed Arturo Prat on the opponent's court 112-69. Brisas were outscored by Stadio Italiano in a home game 45-64.

Very expected game in San Felipe where 12th ranked Arturo Prat (2-17) was crushed by fourth ranked Truenos (12-7) 112-69 on Saturday. Truenos dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Arturo Prat's 38. Truenos looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Arturo Prat's players. The best player for the winners was forward Martin Morales who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). Forward Nick Morales (187-1985) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Felix Rivas who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and Matias Gonzalez (-2001) added 9 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Arturo Prat's coach Victor Rios gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Truenos moved-up to second place, which they share with Stadio Italiano. Arturo Prat lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Truenos will meet at home Brisas (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arturo Prat will play against Boston College and hope to secure a win.

Stadio Italiano outrebounded Brisas 46-27 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Francisco Pena (187) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Ramiro Galvez chipped in 12 points. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Sascha Frings (202-1986) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Sebastian Roa (-1991) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stadio Italiano have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Truenos. Loser Brisas keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Stadio Italiano will meet Arabe de Valp. (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brisas will play against Truenos in Talca and hope to secure a win.
