Gomez's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

43-year old center Tatiana Gomez (192-C-1981) had an amazing evening in the last round for CD Esc. Alemana Paillaco and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
She had a double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Espanol (#5, 0-3) with 16-point margin 68-52. Thanks to this victory Alemana moved-up to the 3rd position in Chilean LNF. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Alemana won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Gomez turned to be Alemana's top player in her first season with the team. Gomez has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.0ppg) and averages solid 5.0bpg and 57.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Betsy Guilarte (186-C-2003) of Club Sergio Ceppi Santiago. She is Cuban center in her first season at Sergio Ceppi. In the last game Guilarte recorded an impressive double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Sergio Ceppi lost that game 70-75 to Sportiva Ita. (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Guilarte is a newcomer at Sergio Ceppi and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#7). She also registered 13.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Agustina Garcia (173-F/G-1996, agency: BIG) of Municipal Puente Alto (#3). Garcia showcased her all-around game by recording 18 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Puente Alto, leading her team to a 65-54 win against #4 ranked Gimnastico in a game of the week. Puente Alto needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Zona Centro. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. The season just started for Garcia as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.
