Pieter Prinsloo signs at Las Animas

Club Deportes Las Animas (LNB) landed 32-year old South African ex-international 208cm power forward Pieter Prinsloo (college: Marist) for upcoming season. He played most recently at Univ.Concepcion (LNB). In 6 games he averaged 4.2ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.0bpg last season. He helped them to win the Supercup. Prinsloo also played 6 games in BCL Americas where he had 6.2ppg and 2.5rpg.
The previous (2023) summer he played at Tigers (BNL) in South African league. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. He also played 7 games in South African BNL where he recorded very impressive stats: 15.6ppg, 9.7rpg, 2.0apg, 1.7spg and 2.9bpg in 2023 year.
Prinsloo represented South Africa at the Afrobasket Championship seven years ago. During this event he scored an average of 12.3 points per game and had 4.7 rebounds per game.
He is a very experienced player. Prinsloo has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Latin America, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in South Africa, Spain (Gijon Circulo), Venezuela (Toros), El Salvador (ExSAL Santa Tecla, Santa Tecla, Metapan and Santiagueno), Nicaragua (Costa Caribe, Toros, Jass and Sur Rivas), Bolivia (Calero and Santa Cruz) and Nigeria (Lagos City Stars).
Among many awards he won South African BNL championship title in 2023. Prinsloo was voted to Nicaraguan LSB All-Star Game back in 2019.
He graduated from Marist College in 2014 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
