Puente Alto smashed Sportiva Italiana at home 90-68. Puente Alto outrebounded Sportiva Italiana 48-33 including a 42-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Puente Alto looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Sportiva Italiana's players. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Ocasio (196-1992, college: New Haven) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Justin Strings (201-1996, college: Sacramento St.) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Puente Alto's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Gaspar Hernandez (-1999) who recorded 29 points.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Espanol (0-1) in Osorno. Hosts were edged by Univ.Concepcion (4-0) 77-74. It was a good game for American forward Stephen Maxwell (201-1993, college: CSUN) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Evandro Arteaga contributed with 17 points for the winners. Univ.Concepcion's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American-Ivorian forward Mike Fofana (206-1997, college: HSU) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds for Espanol.
A very close game took place in Talca between Univ.Catolica and Espanol. Univ.Catolica (2-2) got a very close victory on the road over Espanol (0-3). Univ.Catolica managed to escape with a 2-point win 64-62 on Saturday evening. It was a great evening for Pedro Leopoldino who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Enrico De Paula with 16 points and 9 rebounds.
