Daniela Morillo-Wallen claims Chilean LNF Hoops Agents weekly honour

Venezuelan Daniela Morillo-Wallen (179-SF-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Colegio Los Leones Quilpe and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 29-year old had a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Gimnastico (#5, 0-3) with 41-point margin 78-37. It allowed Los Leones to jump to the first place in the Chilean LNF. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Los Leones won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Morillo-Wallen had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She turned to be Los Leones' top player in her first season with the team. Daniela Morillo-Wallen averages just after two games 22.5ppg, 12.5rpg and 5.5apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Ashiala Jackson (186-F-1998) of CD Universitario Concepcion. Jackson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Univ.Concepcion lost that game 73-101 to Alemana P. (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Jackson is a newcomer at Univ.Concepcion and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. Tuskegee University alumni Jackson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was American Kwanza Murray (170-G-1996) of top-ranked CD Esc. Alemana Paillaco. Murray scored 26 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. She was a key player of Alemana, leading her team to a 101-73 easy win against #3 ranked Univ.Concepcion in a game of the week. Alemana has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Murray also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Murray has a great season in Chile. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.5ppg (4th best).
