The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Los Leones (4-1) in San Pablo on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Sportiva Ita. (5-0) 55-49. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Los Leones. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The former international Josefina Cortes (174-1998) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners and the former international forward Catalina Perez (195-1997) chipped in 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Sportiva Ita.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezuelan Daniela Morillo-Wallen (179-1995, college: Okla City) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 21 rebounds. Cuban center Betsy Guilarte (186-2003) came up with 8 points and 16 rebounds for Sergio Ceppi in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Los Leones. Despite that victory Los Leones went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Univ.Concepcion. Sergio Ceppi at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Puente Alto.
