The game between third ranked Espanol (15-5) and seventh ranked Colo Colo (9-10) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Espanol was defeated by Colo Colo in a tough game in Santiago 62-68. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Espanol O.. It was a great evening for American swingman Dennis McKinney (194-1998, college: Mt.Mercy) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import Jalen Jenkins (201-1994, college: GMU, agency: Players Group) helped adding 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the losing side American forward Yahota Rasas (201-1999, college: PVAMU) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Colo Colo moved-up to sixth place. Espanol at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Colo Colo are looking forward to face league's leader Univ.Concepcion at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Espanol will play against Puente Alto and is hoping to win this game.
LNB top team - Univ.Concepcion (17-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Espanol (1-19) in Talca 104-65. It was a quality performance for American forward Stephen Maxwell (201-1993, college: CSUN) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Zoran Talley accounted for 19 points and 8 rebounds. Center Matias Villagran (199-1988) came up with 11 points and 6 rebounds for Espanol in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Univ.Concepcion have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-3 record. Espanol lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Univ.Concepcion will play against Colo Colo (#6) in Santiago in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Espanol will play at home against Las Animas (#9) to get more than just one victory in their record.

Puerto Varas managed to secure a 7-point victory 88-81 on Saturday. Marcelo Perez fired 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Varas' coach Damian Gamarra used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Devante Wallace produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Puerto Varas. They maintain fifth place with 12-8 record. Loser Sportiva Italiana keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Puerto Varas will meet at home Univ.Catolica (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sportiva Italiana will play against Valdivia (#11) and hope to secure a win.
There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 19: Univ.Catolica won against Ancud on the opponent's court 66-64. Valdivia lost to defending champion Los Leones in a home game 63-70. Las Animas were rolled over Puente Alto on the road 58-97.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 21 points and 10 rebounds by Justin Strings of Puente Alto.
