Alphonso Anderson claims Chilean LNB weekly honour

American Alphonso Anderson (198-F-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for Club Deportes Las Animas and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Espanol T. (#12, 1-20) 84-78. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Las Animas maintains the 9th position in Chilean LNB. Las Animas is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-13 record. In the team's last game Anderson had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Las Animas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Alphonso Anderson averages this season 23.1ppg and 10.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward AJ Cheeseman (202-PF-1998) of Club Deportivo Valdivia. Cheeseman impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Valdivia to edge the higher-ranked Sportiva Italiana (#4, 13-7) by 6 points 94-88. Valdivia's 11th position in the standings has not changed. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Valdivia managed to get this year. Cheeseman is one of the most experienced players at Valdivia and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Argentinian Federico Herrera (200-F/C-1993) of Sportiva Italiana Valparaiso (#4). Herrera scored 21 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Herrera's great performance the Sportiva Italiana lost 88-94 to the lower-ranked Valdivia (#11, 4-17). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Sportiva Italiana needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 13 victories and 7 lost games. Herrera has a very solid season. In 20 games in Chile he scored 10.5ppg. He also has 7.1rpg and a FGP of 64.2%.
