Chilean LNB 2 round 1 best performance: Juan Cardenas

Argentinian Point guard Juan Cardenas (PG-1991) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked CEB Puerto Montt, receiving a Hoops Agents LNB 2 Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 33-year old player got a double-double of 12 points and 13 assists, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Temuco (#5, 0-1) with 22-point margin 94-72. Puerto Montt is placed at 2nd position in Chilean LNB 2. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Puerto Montt won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Cardenas just recently signed at Puerto Montt and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. Juan Cardenas has solid league stats. He is league's best passer with 13.0apg. Cardenas is in league's top in and averages impressive 100.0% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was another Puerto Montt's star - young Colombian Leyder Moreno (195-F-2000). Moreno had a very good evening with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course together with Cardenas he helped CEB Puerto Montt with another comfortable win outscoring Temuco (0-1) 94-72. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Moreno is one of the most experienced players at Puerto Montt and similarly like Juan Cardenas has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.0ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 9.0rpg and 5.0apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Ivan Pacheco (G-1994) of CD Tinguiririca San Fernando (#5). Pacheco scored 23 points. Despite Pacheco's great performance the Tinguiririca lost 65-71 to Municipal C. (#1, 1-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The season just started for Pacheco as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

7. Patricio Penaloza (2000) of Municipal C. - 22 points and 11 rebounds
8. Martin Morales (F-2002) of Truenos - 18 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Hilario Sanchez (1999) of Arabe de Valp. - 22 points and 8 rebounds
10. Benjamin Cabello (G-1999) of Omega - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists
