Chilean LNB round 28 best performance: Roquez Johnson

American Center Roquez Johnson (201-C-1992, agency: BIG) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Colegio Los Leones de Quilpue, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (24 points, nine rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Espanol O. (#3, 19-10) 67-64. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Los Leones to consolidate first place in the Chilean LNB. Los Leones have a solid 26-3 record. Johnson turned to be Los Leones' top player in his first season with the team. Roquez Johnson averages this season 16.4ppg and 6.8rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Stephen Maxwell (201-F-1993) of league's second-best CD Universidad de Concepcion. Maxwell had a very good evening with 30 points and 8 rebounds. Of course he led Univ.Concepcion to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Sportiva Italiana (#5, 17-12) 95-70. Univ.Concepcion's second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just four games this season, while they won 25 matches. Maxwell is a newcomer at Univ.Concepcion, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.2ppg (#2). He also registered 7.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Alphonso Anderson (198-F-1997) of Club Deportes Las Animas (#9). Anderson scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Las Animas, leading his team to a 82-73 win against slightly lower-ranked Univ.Catolica (#10, 9-20). The chances of Las Animas ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 17 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Anderson could help Las Animas to bring them higher in the standings. Anderson has a great season in Chile. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.4ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 9.3rpg (6th best).
