Rashad Hassan claims Chilean LNB weekly honour

Experienced American Rashad Hassan (203-C/F-1989) had a great game in the last round for Club Deportes Las Animas and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 29.
The 35-year old had a double-double of 32 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Sportiva Italiana (#5, 19-13) 85-77. Las Animas maintains the 9th position in Chilean LNB. Las Animas is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-18 record. In the team's last game Hassan had a remarkable 70.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Las Animas' top player in his first season with the team. Savannah State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hassan is in league's top in points (3rd best: 21.7ppg) and averages solid 61.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international point guard Franco Morales (181-PG-1992) of Asociacion Basquetbol Ancud. Morales impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Ancud to another comfortable win 90-77 over slightly lower-ranked Puente Alto (#8, 14-18) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Ancud to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-17 record. Morales is a newcomer at Ancud and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Santiago Soulodre (195-PF-1998) of Club Deportivo Valdivia (#11). Soulodre got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds . He was a key player of Valdivia, leading his team to a 82-66 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Espanol T. (#12, 3-29). Valdivia can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 6-26 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Soulodre has a very solid season. In 32 games in Chile he scored 6.7ppg.

9. Dishon Lowery (200-C-1998) of Valdivia - 18 points and 12 rebounds
10. Rodney Simon (206-C-1997) of Espanol T. - 21 points and 13 rebounds
