Strings' 32-point game gives him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

28-year old American forward Justin Strings (201-F-1996) had a very impressive game in the last round for Club Deportes Puente Alto and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 30.
He had the game-high 32 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Puente Alto in his team's victory, helping them to beat Valdivia (#11, 6-26) 76-71. Puente Alto maintains the 8th position in Chilean league. Puente Alto is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-18 record. In the team's last game Strings had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Puente Alto's top player in his first season with the team. Sacramento State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Strings is in league's top in points (7th best: 19.2ppg) and averages solid 53.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Pedro Leopoldino (206-C-1998) of CD Universidad Catolica de Santiago. He is Brazilian center in his first season at Univ.Catolica. In the last game Leopoldino recorded an impressive double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Univ.Catolica lost that game 75-80 to slightly higher-ranked Las Animas (#9, 14-18). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Univ.Catolica keeps 10th position. 23 lost games are too many comparing to just nine victories Univ.Catolica managed to get this year. Leopoldino is a newcomer at Univ.Catolica and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Stephen Maxwell (201-F-1993) of league's second-best CD Universidad de Concepcion. Maxwell got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . Despite Maxwell's great performance the Univ.Concepcion lost 92-95 to the lower-ranked Sportiva Italiana (#5, 19-13). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Univ.Concepcion had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 6th lost game is hopefully really an accident. Maxwell's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Maxwell has a great season in Chile. After 31 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.5ppg (best scorer).
