Shields' double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Kiera Shields had a very impressive game in the last round for C.D. Espanol and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had a double-double of 33 points and 23 rebounds, while her team lost the game against Univ. Austral (#5, 1-4) 62-72. Espanol maintains the 4th position in their group in the Chilean LNF. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. Shields turned to be Espanol's top player in her first season with the team. Shields has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.7ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 14.7rpg) and averages solid 54.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kwanza Murray (170-G-1996) of league's second-best Municipal Puente Alto. She is American guard in her first season at Puente Alto. In the last game Murray recorded an impressive 36 points and 2 rebounds. Of course she led Puente Alto to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Sergio Ceppi (#5, 2-4) 94-52. Puente Alto's second position in Zona Centro has not changed. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 5 matches. Murray is one of the most experienced players at Puente Alto and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.2ppg (#3). She also registered 5.3 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Puente Alto's star - guard Fernanda Ovalle (178-G-2003). Ovalle showcased her all-around game by recording 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Municipal Puente Alto, helping her team with a 94-52 easy win against the lower-ranked Sergio Ceppi (#5, 2-4). Puente Alto is closer and closer to top of the standings in Zona Centro. They will still need more victories. But 5-1 record is not that bad... Ovalle has a great season in Chile. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.8ppg (7th best). She also has 1.3bpg and a FGP of 66.7%.
