International Forward Constanza Cardenas (185-F-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked CD Universitario Concepcion, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed Univ. Austral (#5, 1-4) with 68-point margin 124-56. It allowed Univ.Concepcion to consolidate first place in the Chilean LNF. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Univ.Concepcion already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. Cardenas just recently signed at Univ.Concepcion, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Constanza Cardenas averages this season 12.0ppg and 8.2rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young international center Tatiana Gomez (192-C-1981) of league's second-best CD Esc. Alemana Paillaco. Gomez had a very good evening with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led Alemana to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Espanol (#4, 1-3) 74-50. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Zona Sur. Alemana consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Gomez is a newcomer at Alemana, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international guard Fernanda Ovalle (178-G-2003) of league's second-best Municipal Puente Alto. Ovalle scored 25 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. She was a key player of Puente Alto, leading her team to a 88-80 win against #3 ranked Los Leones. Puente Alto is closer and closer to top of the standings in Zona Centro. They will still need more victories. But 5-1 record is not that bad... Ovalle has a great season in Chile. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.8ppg (7th best). She also has 1.3bpg and a FGP of 66.7%.
