Los Leones outrebounded Ancud 39-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Los Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Ancud's players. American forward Jerry Evans (203-1990, college: Nevada) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Roquez Johnson (201-1992, college: MSU, agency: BIG) chipped in 16 points. Los Leones' coach Jose Angel Samaniego felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian Nahuel Martinez (188-1995) responded with 18 points and American forward Richard Granberry (203-1993, college: Virginia St.) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds.
