LNB2 Round 7 (Regular Season): Brisas are defeated by Sergio Ceppi in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Sergio Ceppi (#5) and Brisas (#4). Sergio Ceppi (2-4) won against visiting Brisas (1-4) 75-63. It was a great shooting night for Sergio Ceppi especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. It was a great evening for forward Elias Donoso (-1986) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Felipe Latorre (-1993) helped adding 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side guard Felipe Oyarzun (187-1989) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sergio Ceppi moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Temuco. Brisas at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Santiago: Boston College (#1) and Stadio Italiano (#3). Boston College (5-1) won against visiting Stadio Italiano (3-3) 73-67. It was an exceptional evening for Antone Robinson who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. Vicente Schulz accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. Boston College's coach Benjamin Gasc allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Gabriel Gonzalez (-2001) came up with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks for Stadio Italiano in the defeat. Boston College have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-1 record. Stadio Italiano at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Curico. Third ranked host Liceo Curico (3-2) defeated their biggest opponent Constitucion (2-3) 87-79. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Gabriel Cardoso fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Enrico De Paula produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds for lost side. Liceo Curico moved-up to second place, which they share with Luis Matte and Quilpue. Loser Constitucion dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with The Sharks.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: winless Tinguiririca lost to undefeated Truenos on the opponent's court 59-79. The Sharks unfortunately lost to Illaplel in a home game 73-77. Winless Arturo Prat was rolled over Arabe de Valp. on the road 44-91. Winless Huachipato was defeated by Temuco on its own court 75-80. Aleman lost to undefeated Puerto Montt in a road game 74-99.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 31 points and 15 rebounds by Leyder Moreno of Puerto Montt.



Truenos - Tinguiririca 79-59

Very expected game in Talca where bottom-ranked Tinguiririca (0-6) was crushed by leader Truenos (6-0) 79-59 on Saturday. Truenos forced 22 Tinguiririca turnovers and outrebounded them 48-26 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international guard Sebastian Saez (190-1984) fired 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Nick Morales (187-1985) chipped in 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Truenos' coach Carlos Morales used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Cuban guard Angel Ibanez (190-1990) produced 12 points and 4 assists and Alfonso Gonzalez added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Truenos have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record, which they share with Puerto Montt. Loser Tinguiririca still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Huachipato.

Rather predictable result when first ranked Illaplel (4-1) defeated on the road 4th placed The Sharks (2-3) 77-73 on Sunday. Illaplel had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Brazilian guard Caio Domingos (178-2005) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Henry Lourdener (-2004) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Illaplel players scored in double figures. Ignacio Villarroel (-2003) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and Alfredo Alvarez (-2002) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Illaplel maintains first place with 4-1 record. Loser The Sharks keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Constitucion.

Arabe de Valp. dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Arturo Prat's 36. Arabe de Valp. forced 31 Arturo Prat turnovers and outrebounded them 58-37 including a 24-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Arabe de Valp. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Arturo Prat's players.
