Andres Martinez claims Chilean LNB2 Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Argentinian Andres Martinez (F-1987) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for CD Municipal Chillan and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents LNB2 Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 37-year old forward had a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Constitucion (#4, 2-4) 84-77. Municipal C. maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Chilean LNB2. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Municipal C. will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Martinez had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at Municipal C., through which he has constantly improved. Martinez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 10.3rpg) and averages solid 52.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Francisco Pavez (178-PG-1992) of second-ranked CD Omega. Pavez impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. It was enough for Omega to edge slightly lower-ranked Aleman (#3, 2-3) by 5 points 72-67. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group D. Omega consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Pavez is one of the most experienced players at Omega and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Sebastian Riquelme (188-F-1995) of second-ranked CD Liceo Curico. Riquelme scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of Liceo Curico, leading his team to a 81-74 win against Tinguiririca (#5, 0-7). Liceo Curico needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in Group C. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Riquelme has a very solid season. In 6 games in Chile he scored 16.0ppg. He also has 8.3rpg and and 3PT: 57.1%.
