LNF Round 2 (Regular Season): Puerto Montt lose to Univ.Concepcion

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LNF. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Puerto Montt at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by Univ.Concepcion 90-30. Univ.Concepcion held Puerto Montt to an opponent 21.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Univ.Concepcion forced 21 Puerto Montt turnovers and outrebounded them 53-29 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Univ.Concepcion looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Puerto Montt's players. The former international forward Catalina Perez (195-1997) had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Barbara Cousino (178-1996) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Ximena Becerra (-2005) responded with 6 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
Important game to mention about took place in Santiago. Sergio Ceppi saved a 3-point victory at home edging Brisas 56-53 in the fight for the fourth place. Forward Pia Henriquez (190-2003) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Paula Moya supported her with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Sergio Ceppi's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by Paulina Henrriquez (-1986) did not help to save the game for Brisas.
The game in Vina del Mar was also quite interesting. Los Leones played at the court of Gimnastico. Los Leones defeated Gimnastico 81-66 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Kyaja Williams who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Sonya Morris produced 23 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by Javiera Campos of Los Leones.

Los Leones forced 22 Gimnastico turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Kyaja Williams (180-1998, college: Bowie St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. International point guard Javiera Campos (163-2002) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Sonya Morris (178-1997, college: Texas) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and Cuban center Betsy Guilarte (186-2003) added 21 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
