Chilean LNF round 2 best performance: Javiera Campos

International Point guard Javiera Campos (163-PG-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Colegio Los Leones Quilpe, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (19 points, six rebounds and five assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Gimnastico (#6, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 81-66. It allowed Los Leones to consolidate first place in the Chilean LNF. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Los Leones won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Campos had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. She turned to be Los Leones' top player in her first season with the team. Javiera Campos has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (4th best: 18.0ppg), assists (2nd best: 4.5apg) and averages impressive 2.5spg,75.0% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Sonya Morris (178-G-1997) of CD Gimnastico Vina del Mar. Morris had a very good evening with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Gimnastico lost that game 66-81 to Los Leones (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Morris is a newcomer at Gimnastico, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.0ppg (#1). She also registered 5.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Pia Henriquez (190-F-2003) of Club Sergio Ceppi Santiago (#4). Henriquez showcased her all-around game by recording 11 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Sergio Ceppi, leading her team to a 56-53 win against Brisas (#5, 0-2). Sergio Ceppi needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Zona Centro. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Henriquez has a great season in Chile. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (4th best).
