American Lenell Henry (203-1998, college: Alcorn St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Argentinian guard Guido Mariani (194-1994, agency: BIG) chipped in 27 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). At the losing side American forward Stephen Maxwell (201-1993, college: CSUN) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Univ.Concepcion will play next round against strong Puerto Varas trying to get back on the winning streak. There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 1: Los Leones destroyed Colo Colo on the opponent's court 85-54. Puerto Varas managed to outperform Las Animas in a home game 92-89. Ancud lost to Valdivia on the road 80-87.
