Chilean LNB round 1 best performance: Joshua Morris (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Joshua Morris (203-F-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for Club Deportes Puerto Varas, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, seven rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Las Animas (#5, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 92-89. Thanks to this victory Puerto Varas moved-up to the 4th position in Chilean LNB. Puerto Varas is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Morris had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Puerto Varas and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former University of Texas Permian Basin star has very solid stats this year. Morris is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.0ppg) and averages impressive 2.0bpg and 61.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Lenell Henry (203-PF-1998) of league's leader Club Deportivo Valdivia. Henry had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Valdivia to another comfortable win 85-70 over Univ.Concepcion (1-1) being unquestionably team leader. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Henry is a newcomer at Valdivia, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.5ppg (#4). He also registered 10.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Valdivia's star - Argentinian guard Guido Mariani (194-G-1994, agency: BIG). Mariani scored 27 points and passed 5 assists. He was another key player of Club Deportivo Valdivia, helping his team with a 85-70 easy win against #3 ranked Univ.Concepcion in a game of the week. Valdivia has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Mariani also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Mariani has a great season in Chile. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (6th best).
