Stephen Maxwell claims Chilean LNB Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced American Stephen Maxwell (201-F-1993) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best CD Universidad de Concepcion and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 32-year old forward had a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds, while his team crushed Puerto Varas (1-1) with 18-point margin 85-67. Univ.Concepcion is placed at 2nd position in Chilean LNB. Univ.Concepcion is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. It's Maxwell's second year at Univ.Concepcion and it's hard to imagine this team without him. California State University Northridge graduate has very impressive stats this year. Maxwell is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.5ppg) and rebounds (2nd best: 11.5rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international power forward Fabian Martinez (194-PF-2000) of Club Deportes Las Animas. Martinez impressed basketball fans with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course Las Animas cruised to a 87-78 relatively comfortable win over Espanol O. (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Martinez is a newcomer at Las Animas and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#8). He also registered 6.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was international forward Darrol Jones (195-F-1994) of top-ranked Colegio Los Leones de Quilpue. Jones showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Los Leones, leading his team to a 77-66 win against #3 ranked Puente Alto in a game of the week. Los Leones has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Jones also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Jones has a great season in Chile. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.0apg (6th best).
