Important game to mention about took place in Puente Alto. Fourth ranked Puente Alto (3-5) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-ranked Colo Colo (4-3) 83-82 on Saturday evening. American center Jonnivius Smith (206-2001, college: UTSA) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds. Rakim Brown contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Uruguayan guard Diego Garcia (186-1992) replied with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Colo Colo. Colo Colo's coach Ernesto Menchaca rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Puente Alto maintains fourth position with 3-5 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Colo Colo at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. Puente Alto will play against league's second-placed Univ.Catolica in Santiago in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Valdivia: Valdivia (#4) and Las Animas (#3). Valdivia (4-4) won against visiting Las Animas (3-5) 81-75. Worth to mention a great performance of Guido Mariani who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Emanual Shepherd responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Valdivia moved-up to third place. Las Animas lost fourth consecutive game.
