Guido Mariani claims Chilean LNB Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Argentinian Guido Mariani (194-G-1994, agency: BIG) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Club Deportivo Valdivia and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 31-year old guard had the game-high 23 points adding eight rebounds and five assists for Valdivia in his team's victory, helping them to beat Las Animas (#5, 3-5) 81-75. Valdivia is placed at 3rd position in Chilean LNB. Valdivia is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. In the team's last game Mariani had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. The third best performed player last round was American Jonnivius Smith (206-C-2001) of Club Deportes Puente Alto (#4). Smith scored 15 points and grabbed 20 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Puente Alto, leading his team to a 83-82 win against #3 ranked Colo Colo. The chances of Puente Alto not to end season at such low position in Centro, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Smith could try to bring Puente Alto's a little bit higher in the standings. Smith has individually a great season in Chile. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.4rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.6bpg and a FGP of 51.4%.
