The Regular Season in LNF just ended. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Los Leones as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Los Leones defeated 4th ranked Gimnastico in San Pablo 75-64. Los Leones forced 21 Gimnastico turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Kyaja Williams (180-1998, college: Bowie St.) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds. chipped in 15 points, 16 rebounds and 12 assists. Los Leones' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Sonya Morris (178-1997, college: Texas) who recorded 23 points and 9 rebounds. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Gimnastico at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Sergio Ceppi.
Undefeated Sportiva Ita. (5-1) recorded its first loss in Valparaiso. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Puente Alto (5-1) 74-64. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sportiva Ita.. It was a good game for Colombian guard Manuela Rios (163-1997) who led her team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Gabriela Ahumada contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Kyaja Williams (180-1998, college: Bowie St.) replied with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for Sportiva Ita.Sportiva Ita.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Sergio Ceppi (#5) and Brisas (#6). Brisas were smashed at home by 45 points 31-76 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Pia Henriquez had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Maria Mancilla with 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sergio Ceppi (2-5) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gimnastico. Loser Brisas still closes the standings with seven games lost.
In the last two games of round 6 Puerto Montt was defeated by Alemana in Paillaco 70-61. Univ. Austral lost to undefeated Univ.Concepcion at home 50-91.
The best stats of 6th round was 16 points by Leah Scott of Univ.Concepcion.
