Lagowski's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

Nerea Lagowski

19-year old Argentinian center Nerea Lagowski (195-C-2006) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked C.D. Universitario Austral de Chile and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
She had a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds, while her team beat Alemana P. (#3, 1-3) 85-72. Univ. Austral is placed at 2nd position in Chilean LNF. Univ. Austral is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. In the team's last game Lagowski had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. She turned to be Univ. Austral's top player in her first season with the team. Lagowski has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.4ppg) and averages solid 1.6bpg,2.6spg and 57.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Leah Scott (183-PF-1993) of top-ranked CD Universitario Concepcion. She is American forward in her first season at Univ.Concepcion. In the last game Scott recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds. Of course she led Univ.Concepcion to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Puerto Montt (#4, 1-4) 104-53. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Zona Sur. Univ.Concepcion consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 6 games without any defeat. Scott is a newcomer at Univ.Concepcion and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.7ppg (#2). She also registered 9.3 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Manuela Rios (163-G-1997) of league's leader Municipal Puente Alto. Rios showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists (!!!) in the last round. She was a key player of Puente Alto, leading her team to a 78-69 win against #3 ranked Los Leones. Puente Alto confirms their top position in Zona Centro. Rios has a great season in Chile. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.2ppg (3rd best) and assists with 9.0apg (best passer). She also has 4.3spg and a FGP of 53.1%.
