Alexus Johnson's triple-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

American Center Alexus Johnson (197-C-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Colegio Los Leones Quilpe, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 31-year old player recorded a triple-double of 18 points adding also 15 rebounds and 10 assists, while her team outclassed Sergio Ceppi (#5, 2-7) with 57-point margin 92-35. Los Leones maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Chilean LNF. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Los Leones will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. She turned to be Los Leones' top player in her first season with the team. Former Texas Southern University star has very solid stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in points (6th best: 17.6ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 11.4rpg), assists (3rd best: 5.3apg) and averages impressive 3.9spg and 65.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Emilia Oliva (2007) of league's leader Municipal Puente Alto. Oliva had a very good evening with a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds. Of course she led Puente Alto to another comfortable win outscoring Brisas (#6, 0-9) 92-33. This victory allowed Puente Alto to move up to 1st position in Zona Centro. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 7 matches. Oliva is a newcomer at Puente Alto and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Los Leones' star - international guard Javiera Campos (163-PG-2002). Campos showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Colegio Los Leones Quilpe, helping her team with a 92-35 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Sergio Ceppi (#5, 2-7). Los Leones needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Zona Centro. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 2 lost games. Campos has a great season in Chile. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.4ppg (8th best) and assists with 5.0apg (4th best). She also has 2.6spg and a FGP of 64.3%.
