The best player for the winners was Argentinian guard Guido Mariani (194-1994, agency: BIG) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American Lenell Henry (203-1998, college: Alcorn St.) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Valdivia's coach Cipriano Nunez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international Carlos Lauler (190-1996) produced 23 points and 6 assists and added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests.

Los Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Colo Colo's players.
